Joshua Doan-Ha is being remember as "a remarkable soul who touched the lives of everyone around him," following his passing days after the motorcycle crash.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, officers from the Fairfax County Police Department were called to the intersection of Braddock Road and Carriagepark Road near Kings Park West, where there was a reported crash.

Investigators say that the driver of a Toyota Corolla was heading west on Braddock Road when it attempted to make a left turn and was struck by Doan-Ha's Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.

He was rushed to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries on Sunday night. The crash remains under investigation.

"His kindness, strength, and spirit will forever remain in our hearts," Linus Aubert stated. "We are deeply grateful for the love and support you have shown during this incredibly difficult time."

Doan-Ha was remembered as "nothing less than a sweet soul," who "deeply cared for those around him and always strove to be the best he can be while inspiring others to do the same."

"One of our fellow riders and marines in the DMV area got into a motorcycle accident the other night," a friend wrote on social media before his passing. "Doctors are doing all they can and he’s fighting but it doesn’t look good.

"I’m sharing his (GoFundMe) link. If you’re able to donate anything at all it would help his family a ton with the medical expenses that are accruing."

More than $11,000 has been raised in the first 48 hours since the fundraising effort was started.

"In honoring his memory, we ask that you continue to share stories of Joshua and keep his spirit alive in your hearts," organizers of a GoFundMe campaign wrote. "Your contributions have meant so much, not just financially, but as a testament to the impact he had on all of us."
